PSL Live: In an unfortunate incident in the game between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi, Gladiators batsman Faf du Plessis collapsed after he crashed with his teammate Mohammad Husnain during the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League, which is held in the UAE.

South African cricketer Du Plessis was taken to the hospital soon after he was concussed during the game on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.

The incident took place right after the powerplay, in the seventh over, when Peshawar’s batsman David Miller played down the ground off Mohammad Nawaz. Mohammad Husnain and Du Plessis both ran towards each other to stop the ball before it touched the boundary rope. Du Plessis dived towards his right to catch the ball, but ended up crashing his head into Husnain’s knees.

The game was won by the Peshawar Zalmi by 61 runs and Faf du Plessis didn’t come out to bat after the incident.

For Zalmi, Miller plundered 73 runs off 46 balls while West Indian Rovman Powell scored an initial 43 off 19, giving his team a perfect kick. In 20 overs Peshawar Zalmi amassed 197 runs in the loss of 5 wickets.

In response to the huge total, Quetta Gladiators lost wickets at regular intervals. The skipper Sarfaraz Ahmad top-scored for the team with 36, but his team lost by a huge 61 runs.

Mohammad Irfan picked 3-27 while Umaid Asif (2-17), and captain Wahab Riaz (2-20).
