IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals (DC’s) Prithvi Shaw blocked by cops midway while going to Goa for vacation.
IPL 2021: team India and Delhi Capitals (DC’s) young opening batsman Prithvi Shaw was recently stopped by the police forces midway while going to Goa for a vacation as the cricketer has enough time left to rest due to the suspended Vivo IPL 2021.
The fourteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was discontinued halfway by the BCCI after numerous covid-cases showed up in the franchises bio-bubbles.
Prithvi Shaw was also not named in the India’s squad for the England tour. Team India is scheduled to travel to England for a three months long tour which comprises six test games including the final of the ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand. India will also play a five games test series against England after the final.
Prithvi Shaw planned to go for a vacation in Goa via Kolhapur but things didn’t go his way as the cops in between stopped him at Amboli, which is under lockdown. As per the information available, the 21-years old cricketer did not apply for an e-Pass which is mandatory to travel within the state in these testing times.
Even after pleading with the officers, the cricketer was not given permission to leave ahead. Prithvi Shaw later after 1-hour applied for an e-pass through his mobile phone following which he was given clearance to leave.
It is a bit confusing why he opted to go on a vacation amid the rising covid cases in the country. As soon as the second wave of the global coronavirus pandemic came, it ravaged the country. As of now 3,43,144 covid cases were recorded and as many as 4,000 people died due to covid-19 in the country in the last hours as per the Union Health Ministry.
The 21-years old Mumbai based batsman was not included in the squad of the ICC World Test Championship despite having a good season of IPL and Vijay Hazare Trophy.
If the reports are to be believed, the sources claim that Prithvi Shaw still has work to do on himself. He is slow between the wickets and has some extra weight.
A BCCI source said that Shaw needs to shed some Kgs of weight in order to be eligible for the Indian selection. Saw was dropped from the Indian test team after the India-Australia test series which was disastrous for him.
“Prithvi is still very slow across the turf for a 21-year-old. He needs to shed a few more kilos. He also had concentration issues while fielding in Australia. Shaw has been working hard since he returned from Australia. He has the example of Rishabh Pant right in front of him. If Pant can turn things around in a few months, Prithvi too can do it,” the BCCI source was quoted as saying.
